Abstract
Rice describes the artifacts found on the floors of the rooms at Muchas Casas Loci A, D, E, and H and at Rancho Derrio Locus 1. The structures were storage rooms, residential rooms, and one ceremonial/meeting room. Considerable manufacturing occured with 'surplus production of ceramic vessels ... [and] other crafts, suggest[ing] a highly integrated community system operating under the management of a centralized leader.'(page 141)
