Chalcatzingo painted art
ancient chalcatzingo • Austin • Published In 1987 • Pages: 171-199
By: Apostolides, Alex.
Abstract
Apostolides describes the rock art found in the caves, boulders, and rocks around Chalcatzingo. He does not attempt to interpret the pictographs beyond a few more elaborate ones that seem to have been influenced by Teotihuacan. The paintings may date anywhere from the Middle Formative to the Postclassic period, with only a few paintings that can be shown to date from the Classic period.
