Abstract
Fowler and MacNeish write about their fieldwork in the Coxcatlan locality in the Tehuacan valley of Mexico. Two areas were excavated that contained strata within the time period: Coxcatlan cave and Coxcatlan terrace. Fowler and MacNeish briefly describe the strata, its contents (tools, floral and faunal material, etc.), seasonality, settlement pattern as it pertains to the site, diet, and discuss possible activity areas. The Coxcatlan locality had sites that ranged in time period from 12,000 BP to 400 BP. Only the occupation zones that pertain to the Highland Mesoamerican Archaic time period were indexed with OCM subject codes (Outline of Cultural Materials codes).
