By: Willey, Gordon Randolph.

AbstractBrief abstract written by HRAF anthropologists who have done the subject indexing for the document
In this document, Willey summarizes the six other monographs on Altar de Sacrificios that appeared in three volumes by him and four other authors. Willey also corrects the mistakes and points out the differences in opinions between the various authors in the other monographs. Willey discusses excavations and analyses that include monumental architecture, house mounds, stelae, burials, ceramics, votive offerings, settlement patterns and the layout within Altar de Sacrificios, the relative size of the population and its probable general health, the development of a nonegalitarian society, and the various trends through time.
