Abstract
Feil synthesizes the data on the introduction and evolution of agriculture in the eastern and western highlands of Papua New Guinea. Feil also examines the changes to the economies of the eastern and western highlands brought about by the introduction of the sweet potato and how it influenced agriculture, pig production, exchange, and the division of labor.
