lines of nazca183 • Published In 1990 • Pages: 313-328

By: Aveni, Anthony F..

Abstract
The author describes some of the more conspicuous Nazca line centers on the plain: one from the base of the Andean foothills, another from the middle of the plains, a third near a riverbank, and others near the town of Nazca. All are joined by connectors. Geographical aspects, the numbers of lines converging on the centers, appearances of the lines, and where they terminate are all covered. There is an explanation of field methods, and the relative advantages of walking the lines verses using aerial photographs are discussed.
