Abstract
This work is an excerpt ('Archeology' and 'Documented History') of the entry for the Aymara in the Handbook of South American Indians. There is a description of the distinctive burial tombs (CHULLPA) of the post-Tiahuanaco and pre-Inca period. Tschopik also discusses the Inca and later Spanish conquests and the colonial period.
