Abstract
This is an excavation report of two Bell Beaker (CAMPANIFORME) sites (Lapeyrère and Le Moulin de Garonne), lying less than 1,000 meters apart, near the city of Muret in southern France. A total of 29 assemblages of heating stones (GALETS CHAUFFéS) were uncovered. Among the stones were found pottery fragments, stone tools, and faunal and floral (eg. acorns) remains. A third of the ceramic fragments are identified as Bell Beaker style. The presence of other styles suggest a local variant of Bell Beaker, one related to the Third Phase of the Pyrenees Group.
