Abstract
This is a study of the neolithization of the Western Mediterranean, including the Dalmatian coast of Yugoslavia and the western coast of North Africa. The author first examines general development in the area with respect to economy (domestication and agriculture), technology (tools and ceramics), and social structure (sedentization and development of farming communities.) Next he looks at regional variation. One point the author makes is that the Neolithization in the Western Mediterranean exhibits much diversity, suggesting indigenous processes at work.
