AbstractBrief abstract written by HRAF anthropologists who have done the subject indexing for the document
Adams has published detailed grave records based on John Garstang's 1905 excavations of the Predynastic cemetery within the mudbrick 'Fort' at Heirakonpolis. To do so, she used his notebooks and records and contacted the various museums that had objects from his 1905 excavations. Most of the 188 graves have grave records, which include a sketch of the grave, a list of the objects found, drawings of the ceramics and some of the other objects, and the date of the grave based on ceramic typology. The appendices include what objects can be found in which museum. A short analysis of the burials is provided.
