Abstract
Chang and Tourtellotte present the preliminary results of their field surveys near Alma-Ata in Kazakstan. Kurgans and settlement sites were found during the surveys, although more are probably still deeply buried in the Talgar Fan area. Still to be done is a ceramic typlogy utilizing the sherds collected in the field and more excavation.
