The Khartoum Neolithic tradition dates from 5700 BP to 3550 BP (3700 BC - 1550 BC) in the Central Nile Valley in Nubia and the Sudan. The central area is the Khartoum province portion of the Nile. The Khartoum Neolithic people herded, hunted, fished, and cultivated wild cereals. They were mostly sedentary, living in large base camps for most of the year and moving out seasonally for herding and foraging. Late in the tradition they were integrated into regional chiefdoms or states.
